Following the decision by the Executive council of the GFA to cancel the 2019/2020 football season, Ashantigold SC has been chosen to represent Ghana in the 2020/2021 CAF Confederations cup.
The Miners won the Normalization Committee Tier 2 special competition last year, and as result represented Ghana in the 2019/2020 CAF Confederations cup. This renders the Miners as the next valid alternative to represent the country in the 2020/2021 CAF Confederations Cup per the CAF inter club regulations.
Management has reiterated their support and commitment towards ensuring the club participates at the highest level of club football and as result welcomes any decision to that effect.
The Miners, currently on break as a result of the Corona Virus pandemic will continue utilizing online training techniques until a definite decision is taken on the resumption of football activities in the country.
