Ashantigold SC clashed with Berekum Chelsea at the Match Day 4 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League Season at the Len Clay Stadium last Saturday (18th January 2020).
Both teams, with an enviable record of “unbeaten” intact, and yet to concede a goal, were definitely destined to serve football loving fans with great football.
Ashantigold, with pressing injury concerns due to the absence of Appiah McCarthy, Mark Agyekum, Musah Mohammed and Richard Osei Agyemang handed starting roles to Benjamin Eshun and Razak Simpson for the first time this season.
Berekum Chelsea maintained their setup for their previous game against Dreams FC, as Kofi Owusu, Ahmed Adams, Jonah Attoquaye were all given starting roles.
Occasional misses from Benjamin Eshun, Emmanuel Owusu and Amos Addai characterized the first half of the game.
Both teams, more cautious in the Second Half created chances at the early stages.
Kofi Owusu capitalized on a blunder at the 52nd minute to hand Chelsea the lead.
A streak of incessant pressure was not enough as Berekum Chelsea handed Miners the first defeat of the season.
The team will resume training on Tuesday morning at the Ofori Stadium.
